s30v what next?

CPM D2 is also very nice and worth a I try. Gota love the Kershaws with the composite blade CPM D2.

I have several s30v knives, what is the next step up in blade steel for my next folding knife?

You should mention what your price range is. You can get some exotic, Cowry-X blades but man.....$$$$......

Boker's "Leo Damascus" blades are interesting and are, reportedly, very hard.

ZDP189 is always an option and pretty widely available, or you can look for at more establish steels, like BG42 or D2, that are professionally heat treated to >60HRC. M4 is awesome but it's not stainless.

My $.02 worth.

VG-10 is a steel you have too own! Really great edge holding and you can easily get it scary razor-sharp.

I also posted a thread yesterday about the next comming steel I must have used in my life because they'll have so many different specifications you can only tell if there good if you've really used it on a daily base.

I've made the decision for myself to choose ZDP-189, as for most people this is the most suprising steel (in a positive way).

Pick up something in VG-10. There is a lot of cool knives done up in that stuff that are must have for any collection.
