How stain resistant is this steel?

Compared to ATS-34? Or other common steels.
Thanks, Jeff:D

I think it is about as stain resistant as you can get in any steel. I say that because mine has been covered in sweat and everything else and still looks brand new. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

Crucible claims S30V is more corrosion resistant than either 154 CM or 440C.
The individual heat treatment may have an effect on the degree of stainlessness. Tempering at high temperatures will increase dimensional stability, but decrease the stain resistance.
The type of finish may also have an effect, bead blasting for instance increases roughness and surface area and may lead to an increased possibility of corrosion.

How the steel is finished plays a factor in stain and rust resistance.

I live in a fairly hot and humid climate in the summer. My S30V Strider AR (the blade is finished with a very aggressive bead blast) will collect sweat condensation in my back pocket and rust in one day.
Whereas my S30V Sebenza (ceramic tumbled finish) will not.

My conclusion: The condensation will collect and hold in a rougher finished blade.

My Large Sebenza 'fingerprints' more than My Small Classic in S30V . I wipe them and even my 420hc Bucks after use or when in questionable climates, so I've lucky to avoid rust sofar.
