I've determined that for my modern folder, I really like to carry a fully serrated knife. What is the edge comparison between H1 and S35vn in a Spyderedge?
I understand that H1 is supposed to be better. I have a Native 5 SE in S35VN and it is pretty good as SE blades go. It is really easy to sharpen using a technique I picked up either here or over at the Spyderco Forum.
I'm sure that Crucible ( S35V maker) surely has some other blade steels in their product pipeline that would be great for Spyderedges. My all time favorite steel of Crucible's for Spyderedges was their 440V ( S60V) which was used in many of the Spyders in the late 90s/early 2000s. The 440V is truly one of my top 5 favorite blade steels for Spyderedges that I've ever used.
The one thing I don't like about 440V is that it is a monster to sharpen. I always liked 440V better than I did S30V not only for Spyderedges but I liked it better overall as well.
I'm also still waiting to see how LC200N will do with Spyderedged blades>> especially being it is a nitrogen based steel just like H-1 is.
