s35vn vs d2 for fixed blade

Im sure this has been disscused many times. But it you could only have 1 fixed blade knife for hunting/camping/defense, what steel would you choose? I want to get a fixed blade with macarta grips and a 4 to 6 inch blade. I like chris reeve, bob dozier, and spartan blades and a few from knifeart (dozier made). I just cant decide on what to get, any opinions appreciated. thanks

They're actually kissing cousins, if you look at the metallurgy, but S35vn is easier to sharpen and takes a finer edge. D2 is also a superb steel; my little Dozier K1 cuts like a chainsaw.
