hey guys, I own a s60 powerlock and have tried to exchange out some of the tools on the knife/can opener/ 1/4 socket adapter and scissor side. I wanted to eliminate the socket adapter and scissors with the V cutter and another blade, but had to reassemble the tool with the original parts after hours of playing around with it because it just didn't fit right. Now I do have the mechanical ability, but does anyone know of the best schematic for tool parts and washer placements so I have confidence that I have assembled my powerlock as correctly as possible as far as fit and tolerances go? Thank you in advance if anybody can help.

The longer items like the blades and V-Cutter need to go on the outsides of the handles. Otherwise the plierhead will hit them and not close properly. I'll see what Info I can dig up here to help out.

I know the long tools have to be on the outside, there was clearence for the plierhead. It was just way too loose unless I added too many washers than I wanted. Thank you Chris, I appreciate your help.

When I swapped mine around, it was just a matter of trial and error, I'm waiting on a serrated blade, and then I'll do another swap-around. I got away with just using one plastic spacer and a few of the thin washers. I'll have to decide whether I keep the V-cutter or not.

Did you find it challenging to get the width right so that the locks would function properly? I took a few tried to get it right.

Yes gadgetgeek, The locking mechanism will not always lock the tools on the first try, I usually have to "press" the lock into place to secure a tool in the "out" position. I don't remember having to do this before, but everything is lined up and was reassembled exactly as before. Mine does not have any plastic washers, but has 2 thin metal washers on both sides of the socket adapter.
