Im looking to get a new knife and want to splurge a little. I have been looking at the sabenza. Although the $400 or so price of it is a little high, I wouldnt mind spending it if its worth it.
So basically its the high price worth it or is it all hype?

It is a very nice looking knife, and I currently have similar thoughts about it.. but I think i will hold off on buying it for a very long time.. my reasoning is.. I use my knives rather extensively.. and roughly.. and for whatever uses I deem necessary... this means my knives have a pretty good chance of being heavily abused, and if i'm going to abuse a knife, i'd prefer it not cost me $400 to replace..

I Hated these knives for the longest time as i didnt get it. Well no one gets it until they own one. They are worth the price. I did sell mine but I prefer flipper folders. Now if CRK made a flipper Sebbie I wouldnt have to have any other knives but my balis.

Well, the Sebenza is more of a collector's knife. To be frankly sincere, my $30.00 Tenacious can cut everything the Sebenza can. I would never spend $400.00 on a knife because if you think of it... Are you really going to be carrying a $400.00 knife?

This is probably the 7,963rd thread on the Sebenza value. The other 7,962 threads all agreed it was worth the money.

When you get one you will know.

Thanks for the info. I assumed this was a common topic, dont have the search option yet.

I would like to use it extensively and would also assume with the $400 price tag that it would hold up to the tasks.

I am also open to other premium knifes, that can take some abuse.

I've handled one and the only thing that keeps me from buying it is that i need to buy other things firts :(

Id go for the sebenza if your willing to pay 400 for it

It's not worth the money for me although for some people (including many here) it is very much worth every penny. Is it worth it to you? How are we supposed to know?

YES ! The Sebenza is worth every penny. Check out Umnumzaan. The Umnum is the latest trend in CRK, and IMHO it's better than the Sebenza.

Are there people that will indeed use a $400 knife daily ? Yup , sure are believe it or not ( guilty of it myself ).

The only one that can answer the question " Is it worth it " is you.

You can get along fine with something in the $50 range , but lucky for us , we have a huge range of dollar values to choose from ( SPD - smiles per dollar :) ).

Its made out of Ti and s30v. I dont know how you can look at the spec sheet and come to the conclusion that its not a tough knife. Ti is EXTREMELY strong even if it isnt that hard. Just because its pretty? And I think the point about a cheap knife doing all the same things is kind of missing the mark. I can go to home depot and get a box cutter and 300 razor blades for all of 3 dollars which is frankly just as functional. And carrying a 400 dollar knife is mostly up to whether or not you can afford to replace it and how responsible you are with your things. Ive seen guys with the same watch theyve had since Ive known them that cost way more than a sebenza who wear them everyday. Why is a knife any different?

Anyway, why not grab one from the trading area? That way if you dont like it you can pass it along for minimal cost.

It really depends on you. Do you like it?
I personally don't care for the way it looks, so to me, it's not worth the money. Others love the way it looks so, to them, it's well worth the money. If you have to ask if it's worth it, then you should really be asking yourself if you really want it, or do you even like it. There's really no point to spending that much money on something you don't like.

It's all hype, can of worms, beating the dead horse... Thread number 2768 on: Sebenza, is it worth it?

Well, yes. I have carried and used my Small 21 Micarta Sebbie every day since I have owned it
