I was approached by a customer to make a "Ringless Krambit" My normal response to this request would be: "I am sure Krambit's have their place in the world, but I have zero experience with them and am not interested in going that far Tactical". But this is a close friend that has purchased more knives than I can count on two hands.

We drew up a design using a handle from one of my previous knives he likes and putting the typical Krambit blade on it. I had my reservations as to how comfortable it would be in the hand. I cut out a blank and made some tweaks to the design. He wanted Ironwood for the handle, But Mr. Jonny Mac told me it would be indecent to put wood on a Krambit. He was right!

Not a fan of any synthetic for bolster material, it neither looks right nor feels right to me.

That said, it looks pretty good on this knife....the rest of it is amazing!

The grinds look super clean and crisp, the furniture is well placed and the fit and finish looks to be superior.

Well done.

Best Regards,

Really nice indeed..
Sabit in my language; is farming tools, recurved blade just likes your ringless kerambit.
The function of Sabit in our place is similar with sickle.
Bulan Sabit is crescent.
Bulan is moon

saw this on the facebox and love the looks of it my man!
Ironwood would be rad, as would hamon. A project for another day perhaps?
what steel?

That's excellent Ryan, I'm really digging it! If I may ask, what pattern of carbon fiber is the main scale? I've seen it before and really like the looks but can't find much info on it. Thanks, Matt

That's a very cool knife, Ryan. I'm of the opinion that desert ironwood looks good on anything.

I agree. I'm thinking with the two-tone style handle a combination of ebony and ironwood would be rather nice.

That looks fierce Ryan!
And the grinds look great, I know that isn't easy.

Thanks everyone for the comments! The grinds were a bit challenging but I got lucky... Sounds like I need to make Lorien one in Ironwood and W2??
