Hmm....looking at the Sable (probably Sable IV). Checked all the relevant threads but can't find a decent photo taken from the spine. Keen to get a feel for the strength of the blade profile - full thickness until when? Any photos gratefully viewed!! Would also appreciate some feedback from owners - especially in how good the blade shape is for usual campcraft chores. It certainly has a nice look to it. Thanks all.

OK, I believe I can help you a bit... and sorry for late response.

Sable IV is one of the best camp knives in CRK line. The cutting edge is curved enough so camp-kitchen jobs are easy to do. Also cutting/slicing on a cutting-board is easy thanks to that profile! Blade is very strong. It's fully thick up to the point, where the hollow grind starts. Sharpness is extrordinary and also A2 is tough but still easy to keep razor-sharp. Generally I recommend this knife as a woodsman's blade :D

And now a pic of mine (indoor only, sorry):

Thanks - Am now in USA and just handled a CR Green Beret and the NR Warrior. Now that I have handled micarta CR, I have gone right off the idea of a second steel one piece. Each to his own!

Nice pics PiterM, thanks. ;) I like design of Sable IV very much, i would like to have one too...

2Big Bird And what knife feels better in your hand, GB or NR?

I think I am going to HAVE to get a Sable IV and Piter's sheath system!!
