I wanted to do a complete overhaul on my original Saber Monarch 131 that I bought as a hunting knife about 1965 or 66 when I was a teenager. Here are a couple of photos of what it looked like before I sent it off to Richard J. in Ohio for sharpening.

Richard J. did an amazing job bringing back an edge that I really butchered as a kid. I still have some work to do on the blood groove and a few other areas. I am working on a stacked leather and antler handle. More photos to follow as I progress.

Here is the stacked leather handle setting up after assembly and epoxy. I drilled some holes in the wood clamp so I could use the tang as a guide and then applied the epoxy on each piece of spacer and leather. Note the wax paper on each jaw of the clamp. I greased the tang so the pieces would slide on and then after clamping as hard and even as I could, I pulled the knife/tang out.

My plan is to add a piece of antler and maybe a few more spacers before I add the nickle silver pommel and them start the shaping process.

Live and learn. The epoxied, stacked leather compressed under clamping by at least 2 or 3 widths, so now the antler piece I cut is too short. Oh well.
