Mineral spirits drinkable?? There must be a semantic confusion here. Usually, what is meant by mineral spirits is a combination of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, of fairly low molecular weight. This is commonly termed 'paint thinner.' This substance is most definitely poisonous, and will kill you if drank!! I doubt that any of you would ingest paint thinner, but felt I should mention that it is toxic. I've no idea what compound is meant by the SACK*UPS representative contacted.
Mineral spirits are a carrier anyway. The molecular weight is low enough that it evaporates rapidly. This is the stuff that is the carrier in Tuf-Cloth and Tuf-Glide.
I recall a humerous episode by one 'Senator' here on the forums. He had acquired from me a rare 'blue circle' Umfaan. He was admiring it, and then sprayed the scales and blade with WD-40, and with horror watched the blue circles turn gray! This, of course, made it into a common gray circle Umfaan. After a frantic call to Anne Reeve, Kelly was advised that this was not permanent, and Windex would remove the WD-40 and restore the blue circles. I would have liked to been there to see Kelly's face as the gray circles appeared!! Walt
