Hopefully they will legalize concealed fixed blade carry. Legal or not, if someone has bad intentions with it, they are gonna conceal it anyways. Although I honestly don't need one, it would certainly add a little zest to my EDC and make things easier if I ever do need a knife.
If you really want to carry a fixed blade concealed, I know a few guys who do it anyways. Just don't do anything that will cause too much attention (in other words I wouldn't even clip that knife to my pocket and I would reconsider on how I dress to give a good first impression to anyone..things like that) I'm not telling you to do it though.. Just passing on what I know.
The old saying, "I'd rather be tried by 12, then carried by 6" rings true on this one. Hell, I've known guys who carried pistols around everywhere with no permit, I would never practice that myself, nor recommend it. Just saying if you're an average person, you should pretty much never be searched by the police if you know your rights...
Then again, there were certain cities in Cali back in the day where individual police officers found out someone was carrying a pistol illegally in rough areas, so the police officers kindly gave them some tips on how to conceal it better, while keeping it accessible for self defense, and told them to have a nice day.
yeah, i'm tempted to do so, but i'm not going to. hmm...i wonder if one could make a knife that's fixed, but with no point, like a mini CountyComm Breacher bar. then it wouldn't be categorized as a stabbing tool....
Don't ever trust California courtrooms to make common sense decisions. Even if something has the profile of a butcher's knife and clearly can't be used to stab, I have a feeling many courtrooms would NOT side with this. Like I said, though, if you are law abiding and know your rights it should never be an issue. If it ever becomes an issue, know your rights, specifically the 5th amendment and STFU and call a lawyer
I'm a member on a prominent california gun owner's forum. People get searched, detained, and arrested for having cut and dry LEGAL firearms. We have one member who had a very large trial just to prove that all of his firearms were in fact completely legal, but it took thousands of dollars for him to prove what is clear as day in the lawbooks.
PS: Welcome to cali
