Sacrilege or Worthwhile Modification

I haven't posted here in a while but I recently modified a couple of my Khuks and I really like it. Someone else may have done this, but I've never seen it posted. Anyway I tend to choke up on my Khuks for certain tasks but sometimes it's a little uncomfortable. I decided to grind and smooth out the cho and make sort of a choil. I think it's still counts as a cho just a little modified. It really helps me choke up and manipulate the Khukuri more like a regular knife when something besides chopping is needed.

One is a 15" Chiruwa AK by Bura and the other is a 12" Villager AK with not markings. These 2 are my favorites.

No more deamons in your khukuri.

Does it feel good in your hand? That's the important. I will just be harder to know the limit between sharp and dull.

If you like it, it's a worthwhile mod.

I modded a WWII with a false edge, and I didn't get hit by lighting or anything. :)

A false edge on an AK Bowie is an awesome mod, btw.

Your finger choil mod is practical AND cool.

FYI - It has been done before....and in the olden days...we might have poked at you for removing the cho...but these ain't the olden days, now are they. :D :p

(if you are happy, we are happy, personalizing your working knives is one of the fun bits of collecting them)

you have completely ruined them and need to send to me for proper disposal after buying replacements..

"It has various meanings according to various people. A few are: the clitoris of Kali, the penis of Shiva, Surya ra Chandra (sun and moon, symbols of Nepal), a "Kowdi" ('cow-track' because the cow is sacred to the Hindus), a blood drip, a substitute guard, and on and on and on. Take your pick. The true meaning has been lost in time so today it is anybody's guess".

I'm guessing Kali and Shiva are not happy (though perhaps Shiva is better off without it given its size). :D

Seriously though, if it lets you choke up on the blade for finer work like a choil, then I think it's a great mod.

I don't think Shiva, the Divine Linganaut is worried about size, nudge nudge, know what I mean?

Removing the kaudi is more practical for choking up on the blade sort of like a flagpole is more practical for drying laundry on if you take the symbolic flag down. Might raise the ire of some, and seem silly to others.
