today i was carrying my Shrade Old Timer stockman that my father had given me when i was very young. the family and i went to the theatre to see Captain America. i took out my little stockman to help opening my fun dip. stupid me didnt put it back in my pocket after i was done using it. after the movie was over i got up and started to leave the theatre, felt for my pocket and noticed right away the Old Timer was not there. i wasnt even out of the theatre when i noticed and immediately ran back before the workers where even in there cleaning. i used my maratac AAA to trace my steps back to my seat looking for the stockman on my way. found my seat looked up and down the whole isle plus the one behind and in front where i was sitting and no sign of it. after about 5 minutes of looking for it a couple of workers came in and helped out but no luck. i guess someone is gonna get a good knife. hope it finds a good home.

some good today too… i think. i won a Keen Kutter canoe with smooth blue bone on ebay for $16.25. hope that was a decent deal. havent really heard much about Keen Kutter. i know its made out of high carbon steel in the USA and was made in 2006. anyone know about Keen Kutter? is it quality?

you will be missed!

Ouch!
Condolences on your loss.

I fear I am unfamiliar with Keen Kutter details.

thanks, im so bummed. man how could i be so stupid. it just sucks that its one of the first blades i had ever received and it was from my father. i figured that knife was gonna be my son's or daughters one day. at least i still have the buck that is pictured… that the first knife i ever received and was given to me by my father. that buck stays at home always.

That has to be an awful feeling. Even worse when it has sentimental value

I lost a trapper 5 or 6 year ago. I still think of it at least once a week. Truly sorry for your loss!!

Sorry for your loss. I can't replace the memories, but if you e-mail or p.m. me your address, I will send you a lightly used Schrade USA 34OT I have laying around.

What a great gesture, Jack.

wow… Jack, you and the Traditional's forum are amazing. the memories cant be replaced, however the knife you have offered me will have a great story behind it nonetheless. now i will find a way to pay it forward. thank you so much Jack, pm incoming.

Me and a friend where fishing right on top of the rapids in spring river (we where sitting in lawn chairs in the water) and he ask me for my leatherman I handed it to him and reached over to get another worm and then I herd BALOOP! I looked over and he just kind of gave me this awkward smile. But thank fully the water was only about 6 inches deep and it was to dense to be taken off with the swift current i picked it up out of the water and started laughing in relief, and then proceeded to give him a very "meaningful" pat on the back. sorry for your loss btw I hate losing knives

What a great gesture, Jack.

Having experienced Jacks generosity, I couldn't agree more!

Losing a knife is a very heart wrenching thing to happen, I've somehow always found my lost knives but I know its only a matter of time before one takes that permanent journey into someone elses pocket! Hope you can build some new memories with the new OT Jack sends you. :)

As much as I hate to do it I have quit carrying sentimental knives all together however most of my "sentimental" knives have seen their fair share of use and deserve a retirement anyways.

I know that has to hurt. Thankfully, I haven't lost any sentimental knives yet. It usually does take me a little while to build up the courage to carry them though.

Again, really sorry about the loss of such an important knife to you (I also lost the first knife my Mum and Dad bought me and I still think about it 20 years later:() and that's a lovely gesture jack:thumbup:.

I'm hoping someone will still hand it in for you.

John

Jack the knife arrived yesterday and i couldnt be more happy. thank you so much, i didnt realize how much i was gonna miss the Old Timer when i lost. even though the one you sent me is not the original given to me by my dad, it is still special because it was given to me by a total stranger with the same love of knives i have. this knife already has an awesome story behind and i have actually already told one of my friends how i received and she thought it was awesome and very generous. thanks again Jack.
