Dave,

Losing a good dog is one of the hardest things. Unfortunately, we are in the same boat. Yesterday, we put our 10 year old Malamute down. Prostate cancer got to him, and we couldn't stand to see him suffer anymore. My thoughts are with you.

yes bertl ... it is jest as bad i know as have had to do that before
. you do get a last chance to say good by first ...
it was a good thing i had loved up on her reall good that day ...
it still hurts tho...this puppy was more spechal then the ones before
as it was she that nursed/loved eatra on me when the wife passed away .
jest as i did her when the thunder storms come rolling ...
i told my late wife to call Bells home so she would fine her way...

no you dont have to be sorry .. i know you and others understand maters of the heart and soul ...
i posted as it hurts to much to keep inside and in talking of her- i feel her presonna a little longer...
its jest that for the past two years when no others were here .. it was jest us to keep company with...

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I had a golden that I got the day I was born. She passed away at thirteen got scared and ran away during a storm and ran off and got hit by a car. All these years and I think of her everyday and look at her collar when I need some inspiration.

Dave, my heart is aching for you. I know how devastated that I'd be if it was one of mine.

thanks Guys!
i have seen others share their sad happenings
at this time i dont even have pictures of her as they were on the
hdd that crashed .. some are on a back up drive but.it is acting up also
yes thinking of her some how for a moment and she is with me in my heart again
she was jest a little yorkie but she leaves a great dane size hole in my soul
she rests under the root of a large tree ..
she looked peacefull like she was asleep for a nap in my last look at her...
and once again i feel lost and lonely...

So sorry to hear of your loss...the unconditional love of our little four legged ones is so special, and I know the huge hole that is left when they are gone...especially for the ones who pick us as their peoples...wishing you comfort in this time of pain, and better health,
Duane

For you Dave.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

wow ... such a sweet story thanks was a heart felt read..
i will watch for her at raingow bridge...

Ah, Dave......I can relate. Had my heart broken by many a dog when I was just a kid. The farm was a dangerous place for dogs and if they got sick or hurt or got into a row with a porcupine.....the vet was named 12 gauge and my dad was his assistant.

Then I grew up and met the greatest Airedale in the world and only had her for five years when she started having seizures and finally had one that killed her.

Haven't had a dog for many years and just got one a couple of years ago. Meet T-Rex.

I've thought a lot about how bad I'd feel if anything happened to him.......luckily, I'm old enough so something bad will probably happen to me first.

Anyhow, we've missed your comments here and glad to hear you also have some good news to share.

Hope that Atlanta show brings you some good finds.

Hang in there.

Dave,

You should have this photo of her scrimmed onto one of your 110's (I have always loved this photo).

Jesus, Dave, I'm sorry to hear that. After losing Karen last year (?) I figured you had enough heartache for one life. My thoughts are with you.

Its always hard to loose such great companions in life. Just remember the great times you've had together.

I'm sorry for your loss. I grew up with yorkies and those darn things get closer to the heart than I ever imagined. You're a good person for taking her on so many adventures.

I had a time just like that. It's easier to see a human go (in my opinion) than your self-less, loving dog. Go out and replace him as soon as possible, and keep the fond memories of your old pooch.
