Brian Walker, a staff writer for CDA Press, quoted C.J. Buck in a Thursday article about Buck's 10% wage or hour reduction, stating that it would be re-evaluated on a month by month basis. Sorry to hear that. So many folks are losing jobs - or being cut way back. I'm not certain that this is the 'change' so many folks ordered. I may have to help the economy out and buy a Buck knife from the nearby Bass Pro after church tomorrow.

The article said some retailers that carried Bucks had gone under - very sad.

I'm sad to hear that. Time to put in a new order. I've been thinking about an Indigo Blue and NS so looks like it's time spend some Buck dollars.

IIRC Case is on their third round of layoffs.... It is sad and unfortunate for the workers. Hopefully things will start turning around .
Even though I really wish I was doing something else, I feel fortunate that I still have a good job. We have been going at 4 days a week now for a long time, sometimes three days.
Even at that, its still a lot better than being unemployed

If it's just an hourly reduction or a 10% cut in pay, then I'm (for lack of a better phrase) happy for Buck's employees.
They still have their jobs. That can't be said for a lot of folks.

I just bought a plethora of Dymondwood knives to gift away.

In the last 6 weeks I bought over $1,000 in Buck knives between their Web deals, SMKW and those 2007 tins on Ebay.....I think I did my part for now, but I will look again at the Buck Web deals site as that will give them directly the most money....

Hope this does'nt last long. I was thinking of working for Buck when I retire from the Army next year. Maybe the "change" Obama was talking about is what I can get holding a cardboard sign.......

I just ordered a Kalinga folder, and a few weeks ago I bought a Vantage Avid. I also bought a Case at the same time. I'm doing all I can.

FWIW - I was never duped by Obama-mania.

WOW, I guess the economic situation is even effecting one of the most well known US knife companies in the world. Even losing 10% hurts. Where I work, they elimited ALL raises. Eliminated the 401K company match. Getting rid of half of your vacation time. And they wonder why peoples moral is low ! We are still there becasue its a job. And we all certainly need one.
