Sad news from the car world

I read that Jessi Combs, who was on several car shows including Extreme 4X4, All Girls Garage and also Mythbusters was killed in a land speed record attempt.

I always liked her tv persona. She seemed nice and good humored and was by all accounts a real car person, especially in the metal fab\welding area.

This land speed stuff is crazy. I'm surprised more people don't die when trying to go 500mph across a dry lake bed.
 
Dang, she was pretty cool. Really in one way she's lucky, she left this world doing what she loved. Won't be a lot of us that can say that, though I've come pretty close :)
