I've torn an ACL(still recovering,7 months), so I feel for the pup. Fortunately for dogs, they heal faster. Consider therapy, it will help

Positive thoughts from the Pleasant Valley for a speedy recovery....

What a pretty girl. I hope she's back on her feet soon.

The cone is still a little bit funny though. ;)

Thanks guys My dog Buttercup is perty much my child. And it hutrs to see her in pain.
I know exactly how you feel. My last dog, a yellow lab, had the same surgery.

Think like a dog. A dog in this situation has to be asking, "what have I done to deserve this punishment? I must be a very bad dog." Furthermore, dog's are pack animals by nature and always very concerned about their standing with their pack, their family. In the wild, a weak or injured dog may be left behind or kicked out of the pack and so a dog in this position is very worried about that. As a result, it is especially important to reassure your dog right now that he's a good dog and a loved member of the family.

Poor girl. Shower her with a lot of attention, but not too many treats. The surgery will heal soon enough and she will be back to normal soon.

My Pointer Kona had an ACL surgery before we were lucky enough to get her. She was "retired" as a hunting dog because she wasn't able to hunt all weekend at a high level with the rest of the dogs (and she did coursing and other competitions) but she is 100% as far as "normal" dog stuff like laying on the couch, barking at me for a biscuit, etc. She is always eager for a walk and runs without any apparent discomfort.
