So a few minutes ago, while I was roaming around my kitchen, I accidentally dropped my closed Victorinox Trekker. It hit the tiled concrete floor at angle, with one side of the head portion hitting first. The fall bent the aluminum liner inside the nylon scale forcing it to close up on the adjoining liner. The damage made the can opener tool not open anymore.
I found this really sad because for the longest time, I always saw the Trekker as some sort of invincible tool. It was a sad realization that some of it's liners jut out too much at the end without any support from the tools inside, rendering it vulnerable to bending due to unfortunately placed blows.
I'm pretty sure it can be easily fixed, but still, it is pretty sad. And even if I've fixed it, I probably won't have the liner as smooth and straight as it was before.
Made me think, how many of you guys had sad experiences with your old reliable MT's or even your new ones?
