Hi everyone,

I currently carry an Swiss alpine small leather wallet in my front pocket. However the stitching and build in this wallet are not very good and it is already coming apart after about 4-6 months. So, I have been considering getting a saddleback leather. Wallet and wanted to know what people think of them. If they are good, which would be best for me? I carry an ID and about 4 other cards. I like to be able to carry cash as well. It is also necessary for me to be able to carry it in my front pocket so it can't be too bulky.

If you want an actual wallet, then the Small Bifold is amazing. I have one and it holds a decent amount of cash and 6 cards with no problems while staying quite thin. Mine took some break-in to get cash in it easily.

The ID wallet would be perfect if you only wanted to carry a few bills folded up and a few cards/ID in your front pocket. I have both and could take a few pics if you need.

Either one would be good, but I like the small bifold more than I thought I was going to. Easily the best wallet I have ever owned. Saddleback has a forum here too if you wanted to do more research and hear more opinions.

I only want to carry an ID and 5 cards and maybe 5 bills worth of cash. The smaller the wallet the better as long as it can hold that amount.

My wife gave me the Small Bifold (I think that's what it is) about five years ago and I love it. As mentioned, it has 6 card slots and the cash pocket was kind of tight on mine at first too. So were the card slots come to think of it. The construction is top notch. I'm 53 years old and I can see this possibly being the last the wallet I will ever need. I believe it will hold up for several more decades.

Front pocket carry would be a problem for me though. It's relatively thin but in my opinion it would be a bit too bulky for front pocket carry. I have 7 cards in the slots, 9 bills in the cash pocket, a Swiss Card multitool stuffed behind the left card slots, and my vehicle registration behind the right card slots. The Swiss Card and registration papers do add some thickness but I think it would still be a bit bulky even without them.

Thats definitely the medium if it has card slots. I didnt know if I was going to like the simplicity of the small, but it has definitely grown on me.

Here are a few quick pics next to my key fob and a small sebenza for size reference. I have 3 bills, 3 cards and 2 IDs in it. The Saddleback ID wallet is empty.
And a shot of the Sebenza just because.

How is the small for front pocket carry. Also why do you like it over the ID wallet?

Personally, I would use the ID wallet if I was going to exclusively carry in my front pocket, but the small is thin enough that it doesnt bother me at all to carry in the front if I need to.

I prefer the small bifold because I almost always carry in my back pocket and it just feels weird not to have a wallet back there to be honest. Cell phone gets its own front pocket, keys and knife go in the other front for me.

I have had the id wallet for around two years now. It will hold everything you want it for, and still maintain a slim profile. I carry about the same amount, and have had no issues with everything fitting. I have carried it everyday since I've had it, including a 9month deployment, and it has held up great so far, I expect it to last a long time. Hope this helps!
