I've only ever owned one of the Case Bose saddlehorns, I really liked it but I have the trading bug really bad, and I let it go. I have a chestnut bone LC from the 2012 offering of the Case Bose annual line, and carry it sometimes. Looking at my LaRock LC, my Case LC and my Dr T LC, I see some subtle differences. They're all examples of the LC, but they're Tracy's interpretation, Case's interpretation and Doc's interpretation of Tony's design. I'm guessing that Tony combined aspects of the Remington 1173 trapper with the saddlehorn and tweaked here and there, making a great design. If you have a saddlehorn and LC that you can take side by side pics of, I'd like to see it. Custom, factory whatever. As a knife nut, this is something my pea brain has been nibbling on for a while.

Can't really help you on this one man. But I will say, I think the Lanny's clip is the best looking pattern I've ever seen. If I had a Case Bose LC, I'd probably give all my other knives out as treats this Halloween. I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures...

I don't have a LC, but I do have a "Sway Belly" which seems to be Queens take on a saddlehorn.

I know that this isn't what you are asking for, but with it having some attributes in common, I thought I would add it to the conversation. Just in case you end up seeking a custom, you would have all your options covered.

Not my photo, but I will update when I get home.

Honestly the Lanny's clip is basically a stout trapper in shape. A Saddlehorn does have a similar clip shape on custom builds by Bose but the handle has a very different bend at the end It almost has an S-curve near the middle of the handle and then a drastic swoop downwards. If you take a trapper by Tony and increase the height of the general profile..and change the clip shape you've got your Lanny's clip.

would one say the Lanny's Clip is more muskrat clip in pattern

No, stark differences. A Lanny's clip has far more of a broad shape, 3/4 grind with flats for the nail nick or long pull. The swedges are in completely different places.
A Muskrat clip is a long slender clip, completely different.

Below we have Kerry Hampton's (a Wilfred Works maker) "Tennessee Jack". Below that we have the Bose Wharncliffe trapper. I chose Kerry's Tennessee Jack to demonstrate how similar the handle is to a WT considering both have the wharncliffe and clip shape.

Here's a Cramer LCJ, 3.5", and a Case Saddlehorn from a few years ago.

Oh my God you're giving me heart palpitations!

Both those knives have a curved jack handle, its a very old handle die. I have an early Keen Kutter curved jack with the same handle. I like it, feels good in the hand. The LC is wider of course cause the blade is wider. The cotton sampler Case done is a curved jack handle. So is the Zulu spear. I design very few knives, I draw from the past. Bring them back from the grave. If you turn that handle upside down its a swayback now.

Thanks for chiming in Tony, revitalisation of old patterns is something ya'll at Wilfred Works do best~

That Hampton Tennessee Jack is stunning! If I had that knife, I could give all the rest away and still be a happy man. Thank you for sharing!

Wow a message from Mr Bose . thank you Sir for your contribution , and for making fabulous knives.

Im planning on going to blade next year.

You are my hero..

Just to enforce the "Kerry" theme going on in the past few posts. A Tennessee Jack and
a TearDrop both in stag.
