Here's a new one I just picked up, a Schrade Walden Safari Set. It consists of an 8OT and an H-15 bowie hunter boxed together as a set.The bowie also came with the sheath but I don't like to store them together. I've never seen one like it before. Anyone have a production date on this one? (The Bowie Hunter is actually a 138L, thanks for the correction Codger)

That would be a No. 8138-OT Safari Set Combination from the early/mid sixties. The fixed blade is a Bowie Hunter, but it is a 138L. The H-15 has a different guard and was called a Utility Hunter. I see it listed in 1963-69. In 1967 it was $12.00. It should include a sheath for the Bowie Hunter.

Thanks Codger! I'm not too familiar with the older Schrade fixed blades other than 165 and 171's, so I just assumed (you know what they say about that!), that this was an H-15. I never even knew there was a 138L. I see now that the H-15 has a thicker, straight guard as opposed to the thinner angled 138. This particular knife doesn't have a number stamped as the h-15's that I've seen do, just Schrade-Walden over NY USA. It did come with a sheath, but I like to keep the sheaths stored away from the blades to avoid any contact spotting. Makes me nervous as hell. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow for research sake.
