OK, I hope this forum is the appropriate venue for this question which arose, in an ugly fashion, on another forum. The safari skinners and d2 vs. sr101... I understand the dark micarta with the designer's logo was d2, and that a tan micarta with tan coating came out in sr101. I bought one several years ago, tan micarat, uncoated (even satin?) AND sterile blade...what steel? help! I can not solve this question, and I bought same with understanding it was d2, researching i think the swampshack back then to verify...help again!

Can't get the photos to load on this website-the jpg files may be too large from my digital camera. Sent files via email to interested (supposedly) parties before I got tired of the whole mess. Thanks.cwd

I am the most idiotic of idiots-I have been typing "tan," I have no idea why, and the d$%^$ed micarta is what looks to be dark olive..BUT the blade is sterile and uncoated! I got that right! I'm trying another picture tomorrow and maybe upload for you in the know to take a look. Thanks.cwd

No, this is not. Please see a picture (if I can attach it) from one of the ganzas, with the item described as "desert olive"---definitely not my knife regardless of the use of "olive."
