I have a Safe Keeper 2 and 3. I have modified the blade to my Safe keeper 3 and I'm thinking of making my own handle for it. I have not been able to find any pictures of what the tang looks like under the grip. Does anybody have picture of the safe keeper's tang? I need to know if I have enough room to work with given my limited skills.

If memory serves the push knives are full tang (roughly the shape of the handle)
I don't have an image of one though
I remember some of them had the handles removed for a movie back in the day, but it's been a long time since I saw them skeletonized like that
Sorry I can't be of more help

I'm pretty sure CS's answer is correct. I searched around for pics, but I couldn't find any. If you have a decently strong magnet, you can move it along the handle and it will tell you if there's steel underneath.

if this is an indication of what's under all that rubber,
i'ld reconsider stripping it off.

Ah, well this is the closest thing I can find, thanks. I was thinking of doing a paracord wrap hardened with fiberglass resin so I was hoping the tang would extend further to the sides.
