Okay, you're about to witness a never before seen collection of Schrade Safe-T-Grips. I know what you are thinking " why in the hell would any one collect these. Well I'll tell. I said I collect Old Timer and Uncle Henry fixed blades. Well, are not these Old Timers? Are not these fixed blades? Doesn't that make them Old Timer fixed blades? Gosh darn I do believe that it does, so I collect them. Now feast your eyes on this brilliant, but not worth very much, collection all for your viewing pleasure.

First up we have three 147OTs. Why 3 you ask? My research tells me that they were made in 3 colors. Black, maroon and green. So here is the 147OT in black, maroon and green. :)

Here is the 146 "min flex" and the 246 "max flex". I know what you are thinking, "Wow, why don't I have a pair like that!

Here is the 140OT and the 143OT. The 140 is new and the 143 is used. Not much to say about them.

And here is the final pairing. The 141OT which comes in green and blue and the 142OT which comes in green and orange. Am I missing anything? If so let me know. I realize you are are very jealous and now want you significant other to run out and buy you a collection like this for Christmas. Just kidding.

I just wanted these because they were Schrade Old Timers. Really not much to brag about but for some reason I had to have them. Hope you at least found this somewhat entertaining and amusing.

There are a few big fans of the rubber handled knives JPET. They are great to hold onto when you have wet bloody hands or hands with fish slime. You have a lot of nice Schrades. Where are you from?

You know jpet, that's exactly what I thought when I started the set below!
Part of the Schrade history in itself though, I don't have any of the other colors only the regular green. nice to see the other Schrade knives!

Russell,

Those look good. I like the way you arranged them. I agree with you, they are part of the Schrade history and I like just having them around. Good looking out.

Thanks for you kind comments Jpet, It took a while to stop them slipping of the sheaths.

Aha, nice country. I drove through there a few times going back and forth from Cleveland to Salem, back in the 80's. I thought that name sounded familiar.

I installed a computer system at the local newspaper, and I was also told to drink quite a bit of beer while I was there. I shutttled a couple of people back and forth to the airport in Cleveland. I like back roads and took Highway 14 up to I-80.

Over the weekend we went to a Jimmy Buffet concert over in Cuyahoga Falls. It was a great two weeks.

Well stated Larry. I call about a 50 knives in my collection, "part of the learning process". Some I wonder why I bought them, and many of them grow on me.

I've run across the same thing. I'm finally learning to tell myself I don't need to go down a particular branch of the Schrade family tree as I'm not done where I'm at, but once in a while, stuff happens, like the other day when a decent BIN deal popped up on a USA 171UH new in the box. I'm not a fixed-blade guy (yet), but couldn't stop myself. It's almost happened with these Safe-T-Grips as well, and probably will some time in the future....

Jpet, Thanks for the comments.

Like lots of collectors.. I thought I'd never collect a certain set of patterns like the Century's, or XT's, or TPR's, or Apex's. I really was working on the OT and UH's when I found I was missing just 1 or 5 from having a full series of the above and oh well... The story continues.
Collecting the papers does that to ya.

I am hopeful I can someday take pictures like Russell and Tim and Russell's BB-125 is still on my list! ;)

Thanks for your vote on the photo's Larry! I guess my Avatar is a constant reminder of the BB-125.
