The wife needed sliced almonds for something she was making. We only had whole almonds so I decided to make her some sliced.

I have a ton of knives and none of them would slice almonds effectively except one.

My inexpensive R1D2. I have a new found respect for my two Rat 1’s. Extremely sharp and excellent slicers!

PSA: Be careful when handling your knives during this time. My R1D2 bit me while slicing the almonds. Almost cut off the tip of the middle finger on my left hand. Probably needed stitches, but NO WAY am I seeking medical care right now. So be more careful than usual when handling your knives until this passes.

I hear they have these new fangled already sliced almonds for sale at most any grocery. Also, I read there are kitchen knives designed for these tasks. It's all about using the right tools for the job.

I hear ya!
About 6 months ago I was whittling away with a slipjoint and discovered the hard way why they call it a folder :(
:D
I read someone on here say 'a knife isn't really yours until you get some of your blood on it'
