A picture worst a thousand words, isn't it ?

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

(Like all spiders, the biggest is the female. Also there is no lanyard hole in the Sage... definitely a male though... :-D )

Great pic! Is the color different on the two titaniums? Or is it just the light?
TC

Let me check with other pics....

There is perharps a very very light difference but hardly noticed.
The millie could be a little darker... It can come form the finish, I don't know.

I have also checked the balance on both:

I have notice the edge while stroping my Sage: it is already slightly convexed ! This is a true hommage to Chris Reeve's !

This is a beautiful knife.

The balance, respecting the proportion is same. The Millie is thicker and heavier but the point of gravity between the point and the butt is at the same ratio on both knives.

And my favorite cutting / geometry test:
To cut right through the butt of a cola bottle (where the plastic injection were made) .
Try it with your knives, you will surprise to see which one can do it.
Like my Gayle Bradley, the Millie and the Sage2 cut through the bottle in one pass.
YMMV, depending on the plastic bottle used, but I have found this a great test for alos the ergos and the efficiency of a design.

Very cool. AFAIK all of the taiwan knives as of late has a convex edge (sage, gb, etc.), but I only know those two for sure.

Yes you are right my BG got a convexed edge also.
But harder to notice by the eyes.

The Sage 2 is beautifully convexed. I even don't feel like convex it myself !

I just got the sage 2 a few days ago and I still can't get over the amazing fit and finish. I love that Ti Millie, might have to get one of those, too.

BTW I got a little question for all Sage 2 owners...

Mine is getting a little sticky to disengage the lock even if it's open slowly.
No big deal but, do you know how to avoid this ?

Both knives look great. I love how spyderco makes every knife look different, even if the same material is used. The CF material varies between knives, the color of the titanium on these is another example. Would really like to own a Sage 2.

I have found a very simple way.
Just by (re)bending the lock I was able to have my Sage 2 smooth and no more sticky lock.
I made the same trick on my excellent Catbyrd... (the real poor poor man Sebenza BTW)

If your lock is sticking just rub a pencil on the back of the tang of the blade. This acts as a slight lubercent. DO NOT bend the lock bar. If you over bend it you can ruin the lock and may not ever get it back to normal. Its the titanium that causes the galling (sticking) of the lock not the tension. Its true more tension can mean more sticking but try the pencil, that should fix it.

thank you robb. You are right, the galling should be independant of the lock strenght. I knew they were some tips with pencil or something. I did not bend the lock like a bear though. I just noticed it was suddenly smooth and no more galling. Now it's pure perfection.
It was some kind of micro adjustement.

We all know the cutting power of the Millie but I'm amazed by the geometry on the Sage.
I can cut wood deep and clean. The handle albeit no as confortable as a gayle bradley or a full millie is very forgiven. The relative thin blad goes deep and straight.
A great knife for il parmigiano ! :-D

A little handle/lock/pin comparaison between the Millie right and the Sage left...

The sage 2 is your trouser best friend.. (As is the titanium Millie...)

I had this problem also, and I was told to use sharpie marker. After a few applications of sharpie, the problem went away.

Also make sure that when you're trying to disengage the lock, don't be pushing against the spine of the blade at the same time.

Just keep using it...eventually it will smooth out and cease to stick.
