Hey, i'm new to the frame lock. My 1st and only frame lock knife was the mantis karambit, which made me hate the idea of frame lock. I sold it away.
After doing more research, i decided to give frame lock another try. Afterall, CRK are so famous because of the same bank-vault feel lock.
The Sage 2 has all good reviews, and i heard that the quality is top notch, no blade play, quick deployment, and excellent ergos.
For the alias 2, i have seen mixed response. Some say that it has very good fit and finish, and the deployment is really quick. However there are some who also say that their Alias 2 has blade play, sticky lock etc.
Of course i want the senbenza but after shipping and currency conversion, a large senbenza will cost me more than $500 =( So, which of the 2 would u recommend? Also, i have already ordered Sage 1 which should arrive next week.

I don't have a Sage but I have have owned the Alias I and II. The Bradley's are good knives but for some odd reason I just couldn't warm up to them like my Sebenza. I still have the Alias II and I like it but it's very small in my hand. If I had the chance to trade it for a Sage 2, I would. I've only heard good things about the Spyderco.

Good luck choosing.

From my experiences with both:

Sage 2:
+Great knife with razor sharp edge
+Loved the Spyder hole
+Sturdy, good fit and finish
+Decently priced for the material and quality
-Not too fond of the blade shape (but this varies from people to people)
-Mine wasn't 100% centered in the handle, but what can you expect these days

9/10 - Docked points only because I'm not fond of the aesthetic value

Alias 2
+Aesthetically, more pleasing
+Love the blade shape
+Blade opens with amazing speed
+Great fit and finish, no blade play, 100% centered
-Kinda small... (but my hands are medium to large sized)
-Sticky lock, but easily fixed with pencil lead trick
-More expensive... not sure if it's worth $180+...

9/10 - Price is a little too steep, but the looks make up for it.

Well. it's a tie for me. I thought I could help but I guess I couldn't LOL.

Honestly though, for me, I would go for the Alias 2 just because it looks nice with the blue accents. However, you seriously can't go wrong with either knife. Why not go for the Alias 2 since you have a Sage I on the way.

If you can find the Alias for a reasonable price, I would go for that, simply because it has a leaner profile and more interesting blade shape. But these are just my personal preferences and take nothing away from the Sage in terms of quality. Actually, the Sage is probably the better knife, but it just hasn't appealed to me much.

A reasonable price meaning under $180. Otherwise, grab the Sage, hunt for a Buck/Mayo TNT, or save for the Sebenza.

I’ve owned both, and the Sage wins hands down, better ergo’s, better clip, better blade shape, easier to find and (IMO) better build quality.

Any of the Sage series are very, very attractive.

I have both ,I now have 2 Spyderco Sage knives, the Bradley never gets carried.

 I have both and have to agree, very close, but the Alias II wins for me.

alias II hands down. i had both and recently sold the sage 2. it was a decent knife but i didnt have room for both. if they slimmed it down and made it in the usa i most definitely would have kept it though.

I don't like the way buck mayo looks. I'll wait for my sage 1 to arrive before i decide. Tough choice =(

I have both. These are two high-quality, high-value knives with excellent F&F, backed by outstanding warranties.

The Sage street price is a bit cheaper and therefore, IMO, an even higher-value folder. I like a wider blade so the Sage models are among my favorite Spydies.

The Alias also is outstanding in every respect.

Decide which aesthetics you like better and go from there.

Hope this helps -- enjoy whichever you choose!

Or... should i really just save and get a sebenza. I like those with inlays

At some point, just about everyone asks themselves that.

Here's how you decide:

-- Do you like the aesthetics of the Sebenza more than the Sage or Alias?

-- Do you have more than $500 to spend, versus less than $200?

-- If you had one, would you actually use a $500+ knife?

If all of the answers are "yes," proceed to the next step. No one here can help.

i had a small seb 21 and after a few months sold it. i kept feeling like i didnt have enough applications to justify a 330 dollar knife.

yeah, they're nice, solid, sweet and purdy but in the end i held on to my alias 2 (and of course a couple ritter/wilkins grips).

i've noticed that most ppl are locking up their sebs until it's picture time. i'd much rather actually use my knife take pictures of it all day. that's just me though...

No brainer. Sage 2. I would take it over my Sebenza any day. Alias 2 just not in same ballpark JMO

This is how I decided not to buy a Sebenza. I wanted one, but questioned if it was twice the knife of the Alias (for me, it wasn't).

Me, too.

But I keep searching for that proverbial bargain that I know will never come -- the discount Sebbie.

Money aside, my search is harder still because I don't really care for the shape of the current Model 21 blades.

Thanks guys. I actually had the impulse to get a
Sebenza, when come to think of it i would nt be using it. Guess there's no justice
Getting something that i won't be using.
