I am curious if anyone else has had this problem, when I grip my sage 2 in a regular grip my middle finger seems to push inward on the framelock when griping it firmly and causes the blade to unlock and close it shouldn't unlock by a firm grip pushing inward only when you push outward to unlock it not sure why it is doing that any one else?

I read your post about 4 times and it still doesn't make sense to me. Maybe try rewording it and you might get some better feedback. I had no problem with my Sage2 in use but actually found it was more awkward for me to close one handed than my Sage one.

I just tried that. When I grip it tightly the frame seems to lock it tighter. How are you gripping it? Maybe pictures would help.

When I grip it my thumb is on the ramp and my
index finger is in the choil and middle finger rests against the framelock,I agree with you guys when I grip my Sebenza the tighter I squeeze the tighter the lock gets maybe I should send it in thanks for the replies

Wow i have only had the opposite happen with framelocks !! The harder I squeeze the tighter the lock up!!
Same here.

I also agree that pictures of you gripping the knife would be helpful. It could just be an effect of some subtle aspect of your finger placement, and if someone is able to figure out the cause from the pictures, it'd save you the time/expense of sending the knife in to Spyderco.

I'm sitting here holding my Sage 2, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to replicate LIKESEMSHARP's problem. There doesn't seem to be any physical way to push the frame lock all the way inward across the blade because it runs into the opposite bolster before it passes the blade. And if you hold it so that you drag your middle finger across the frame lock outward, it seems to torque the knife around. Not sure...

I find the Sage2 to be a great one-handed knife, guys. I hold it in my right hand and use my thumb to push the frame lock out to the detent using my index finger to push down on the spine - then move my thumb up to engage the Spydie hole for closure. Like all the Sages, it is quite a smooth knife...

If you're curling your middle finger over the lockbar, it's possible that the deep cutout is allowing your finger to curl in enough to push the lockbar outward even though you seem to be gripping it so that you're pushing inward. The cutouts on Sebenzas & Striders are too narrow for this to happen, but the Ti Sage is a different ballgame with that deep cutout.

Dale I believe you are correct,I have big thick fingers and after checking it does feel as like the meaty part of my finger may be causing it to push slightly out instead of in,I have since adjusted my grip slightly and all seems nice and solid, thanks for all the replies
