This will be the last knife for a while since I'll be back in school in the fall :P

I've been eyeing both for a while now and I just would like some feedback for both.

Size and weight are not a huge consideration. I'll be playing with it a lot so lots of flicking open and closing, a work knife, cutting performance.

Well the Sage 2 definitely has the upper hand with size and weight however since you mentioned that's not a big consideration and cutting performance is I'd probably suggest the GB due to the M4 steel. The Sage 2 is great...but given your situation I give the GB the edge.

Gayle Bradley. Great user knife in a top notch steel wrapped in a pretty package. Not that the Sage 2 isn't, but I feel like you get a lot more for the money with the GB. I've used it to do things I wouldn't do with a Sage.

Hands down the Gayle Bradley for me. I like the steel, blade profile and ergos better.

For a light, discrete-carrying EDC, the Sage2. For a hard use knife, the Gayle Bradley. They are very different knives.

Cutting performance probably goes to the GB. The M4 steel and high hollow grind makes for a wicked slicer. In some ways, I like the ergos on the GB more as well. For just flicking open and closed, the Sage2 has the advantage - easily accessible thumb hole and frame lock release. The thumb hole on the GB is partially obstructed by the handle, and the liner lock disengagement is also a bit tougher to get at. Depending on your work uses, if you are doing intermittent short cutting tasks, the Sage2 might be better suited. If you do a lot of cutting or heavier use, the GB.

Both are good knives, each fitting some use cases better than the other. For all practical purposes, both should serve any urban EDC needs just fine, so it's really more up to your preferences.

What do you want to do with it? I own and use both. The Sage 2 is smaller, lighter, with a smaller blade. They both get silly sharp. I use the GB harder than the Sage 2.

Total agreement. Just note that the sage is a 3-inch blade, making it legal in more places. The G.B. is 3.5 inch blade. The GB certainly has the better steel, is better for heavier duty. The sage series is great for casual carry, which what most of us do.

A lot of good advice here. I also own both and have gone through different phases liking one more than the other at different times. Both are great but just a couple of things to reiterate, the Sage 2 is a small knife with a nice flat ground blade that has a great opening action and very nice plain ti scales. Useful as a mellow smaller edc but probably not best for heavier duty cutting, whittling etc. The GB is somewhat fugly but cool looking medium sized knife with a very tough but non stainless blade. It would be more useful for more medium duty tasks. It all depends on what your want.

It'll be for just general EDC use, I was thinking of the sage 2, but there's only a 10$ difference between the 2 knives

The Sage will give you more pleasure playing with it. Frame lock on the Sage makes for a better flicking knife over the GB.
You're thinking along the right path for a cool knife to have, not a heavy duty workhorse, but it will get the job done.

depends on what you want..... the FFG on the sage 2 will probably be a better slicer and more pocket friendly.

the GB while still a good cutter is not as good as an FFG blade but the M4 has better edge retention and will take more of a beating. its a velvet hammer of sorts :) easily the nicest production knife ive ever handled.....

pick one and don't look back or just get both and be done with it haha!

Gayle Bradley all day long. It's the only spy die I have 3 of. The hollow grind cuts super well, and gets rediculously sharp edge. The flicking action is superb! You will not be let down if you get the GB. IMO it's the better value as well.

Reading all these "light duty cutting get a sage" comments, the Gayle Bradley will handle heavy and light tasks and stay sharp longer. It'll cut an envelope just as easy as a sage...

I have the Sage 1 and the Gayle Bradley. Both are excellent knives. I own a lot of excellent modern folding knives. But the Gayle Bradley is the one I carry to the exclusion of them all. I totally love this knife. So much so, I've bought a second one to keep in reserve. If size and weight are not a concern, the Gayle Bradley wins hands down. But it's not a toy to be played with and flipped open and closed quickly. You can open it quickly enough but it's not in its element with this type of activity--too hard to access the lock release to flip closed. It's a great cutting tool and ergonomically perfect, at least for my uses.
