Sage 3 or Gayle Bradley Air?

Having a hard time deciding what my next knife will be. I can only afford 1 new purchase so I can't get both. I have been planning on getting a G.B. Air for some time, but I heard the sage 3 in blue g10 is being discontinued, so I am tempted to get it instead. I already have the sage 1 and 2. The sage 3 has never been high on my priority list, but it would be nice to have one just to be able to eventually complete the full sage series. I am hesitant to buy knives just because they are being discontinued, if they don't really appeal to me. The sage 3, I'm sure is a fine knife but the sage 1 has always been my favorite. The G.B. Air seems really great, and it would be my first and only wharncliff. I know I can get the Air at a later date, but you know how it is, when you want one, you want it now!!! Spyderco, Why do force me to make such hard decisions!!?!!. Has anyone regretted getting a sage 3? Is there any advantage to having the sage series as a complete set? Thanks for any input.

The Air is a great knife, I say go with that one since you have two sages already. I wouldn't worry about losing out on the sage three. It's being discontinued due to lack of demand, so it will take a while for supply to dry up. Look at the knives they discontinued last year. Several of them are still readily available even now.

I bet the Sage 3 will linger in its current blue G10 form. They are introducing a Sage 3 with the carbon fiber like on the Szabo to replace it, so you can still try out the Bolt Action lock.

The Air is super awesome and gets my vote. I carry mine all the time, it's a lot of knife in a little package.

I have been wanting the sage3. That would be awesome if it dropped in price some.

Easy decision. Air now! Wonderful little knife that just disappears in your pocket since it's so light and slim but cuts a long time before needing to be resharpened.

Unless you really like the blue G-10, I would wait and see what the replacement Sage 3 looks like before purchasing the Sage 3. I would get the Air personally because the M4 and wharncliff combo seems pretty damn sexy. My only misgiving with the air is that I would have to find a sheath with a clip or wear it with pants with tight pockets because I would be pretty nervous of it falling out while driving or sitting down at work.

Get the Air

The sage 3 is coming back with different scales, and since it wasn't high on your list to begin with you would probly be happier with the one you really wanted.
