Tried it out at SFO. Just as compelling as the others in the series. Excellent workmanship. Cool design. Smooth as silk action. Blue!

Lock disengage was way easier than my Manix2, but I may have a tight example of that knife.

Winner, Winner, Chicken dinner.

Could you pull the bolt back with just your thumb or did you have to pinch it between your finger and thumb?

I ran across a reputable website that listed it was made in Golden, Colorado. True?

Doubt it but don't let it sway you into some other purchase. It's a dang good maker

It is my understanding that the blades are made in Golden and then are shipped to Taiwan for assembly, then it's back to Golden for QC. I own the other 2 Sages (also Taiwan assembled) and a handful of "Golden CO USA Earth" knives and the level of quality is the same:

Outstanding.

Makes me smile every time I pick up a Sage.

(Do I have any issues with any of Spyderco's products. Sure. The Para2's lock nips my finger once in a blue moon. I might be a fanboy)

Although I have always wanted to support manufacturers here in the US, I am forced to admit that the sage series is a step up from most foreign manufacturing products. I received the CF Sage 1 in a trade and WOW. I was just stunned by the seeming flawlessness of the product. I was really trying to fight the urge to pick one up because of that Taiwan stamp, but I cannot deny that they make a superb product. I still am mainly interested in the US Golden CO knives, but if Taiwan rolls out some more great blades I won't completely discount them. They also have the second best carbon fiber handles. Golden wins for its peel-ply cf on the S90V sprints...its just got a nicer grip. I think that the CF Stretch 2 also has the peel-ply.

Anyway, those are my 2 cents. The sages are really great products, and don't be thrown by the country of origin...unless you can afford to buy a CRK Sebenza.

As far as I know, the steel is shipped to the maker and they do the rest, including the grinding and heat treatment.

My Sage 3 and Super Leaf will be here late next week or early the following. Looking forward big time.

Was just curious. I don't care where it's made. It's not on my list of knives to purchase in the immediate future, but in time, I'll have one.

I just called Howes knife shop and pre ordered one. He said they are getting 5 collecters club on monday and 50 sometime next week.
