sage 3

General Sage discussion? Well, I don't see anything about the Sage3 that makes me want it since I already have the 1 and 2. It will probably appeal to a lot of people though, especially those without a Sage or only the 1 or 2.
I think it would be pretty cool to collect all the Sages as well and leave them NIB.

I'm already waiting for the Sage4.
Hey Sal, how about a lock back, G-10, with ZDP-189? :)

Probably not. From what he posted way back when, the Mar/McBurnette lock Sage will probably have a long front bolster and rosewood scales, like the Al Mar knives it was introduced on.

I don't know when it is coming out but I can't wait to get one. I have a Sage 2 that is just sitting in it's box because it's not a must have for me. I really like the lock on the Sage 3 from what I can see. I like the positioning of it like an AXIS lock (which is my favorite lock). It keeps your fingers out of the blade path and you don't have to reposition your hand and fingers to open and close the knife.

The main reason I don't like the 1 and 2 is because of the cutout for access to the lock. The 3 does not have that cutout which ruins the grip on the knife for me.

Thanks for setting me straight. That should be a nice looking Sage.

where can I see pics of the Sage3 ?
Thanks
There's a video of the prototype, narrated by Eric Glesser, here and photos of it here. From what I understand, both the color and texture of the scales on the production version will be different - blue G-10 milled to look like FRN to emulate the original Gerber version.
