Hi FunkMasterFlex -

I just ordered one from Knifeworks.com.

My only Spyderco so far has been my Knifeworks.com exclusive CPM-M4 Military, and I have to say, that knife is fine in every way.

I wanted to try another Spyderco, and I chose this design to check out the bolt action lock, and also I liked that Spyderco is donating 5% of each sale of this particular design/model to Alzheimer's research.

I can get a great new knife, and also support a cause that I am very close to.

I'll post pictures when I get mine - Roger shipped the knife already so it should be here soon barring any new blizzards.

best regards -

I really like my Sage 3 but my favorite of the series is still the Sage 2. In fact, the Sage 2 may be my favorite Spyderco. I have three of the Sage 2s and all are absolutely perfect.

I'm really digging the look of the spyderco pocket clip.
My next purchase is for sure one of the sages

Thanks everybody, that sage is one beautiful knife. Can't wait to get my hands on it :D

I have a Sage 3 on order and it will be going to another forum member for a color change. I'll let you all wait. :)

It seems to me that there's less detent force compared to the 1 or 2. Other than that, I'm completely impressed by the Sage 3.

Noticed the same...fwiw. I haven't dropped this one yet. I'm pretty sure it's going to pop open if (when) I do...

Not sure if I'd agree. All three of mine seem to require about the sam amount of force to start the blade opening. Even if it is true, it's the only one of the three with any bias toward closing which I consider more important. On the other two, once the blade has moved that first fraction of a millimeter it takes to overcome the ball detent, it will sit wherever it lands, even with the point just barely exposed above the handle. In contrast, the blade of my Sage 3 will snap back to the full closed position unless it has opened a good half inch or more. Not quite the closing bias of a mdlock, but a heck of a lot better than any Walker or Reeve lock.
