Just seen that the Sage 4 is being discontinued. Waddup with that?
I mean, it seems the earlier Sage 1, 2 and 3 are still going to be produced, so why drop the Sage 4?
I can see its the heaviest and most expensive Sage so far, has that been a factor? Doesn't it sell enough?

The only Sage I have is a 1, the next most desirable Sage to me is the 4, and it was comforting to know I might buy one someday. Now I have to either do it or miss out :(

The general rule with Spydercos is: if a knife sells well, it stays in the lineup, otherwise it gets discontinued. However sometimes appearing on the discontinued list merely means a knife is getting new clothes and another chance. That happened a couple times with the UKPK, and when Sage 3 was not selling well in blue G-10, it got discontinued but immediately replaced by the black cubic check CF version. Not saying that a similar thing will happen with the Sage 4, but it could.

I do hope they swap it out with a newer, lighter back locked Sage 4 model. Or at least add a compression locked Sage 5 model to the lineup. Now that would be awesome.
