I did a lot of researching on the Para 3 and Sage 5. Blade types, G10, Micarta or Lightweight, etc. I came close to getting the Para 3 Crucarta. But, I already have a PM2 Crucarta. So, I focused in on the lightweight models. The Sage 5 LW Salt won out. I like the blade profile, full stainless liners and magnacut steel. The Sage 5 had that. The Para 3 fell short on the steel liners and blade profile and had a thicker blade.

Can't wait to get it in hand.

My wife bought me a Para 3 Salt Magnacut as a late Christmas present and I love it. I know without a doubt that I would like the Sage 5 Salt too. Might even get one someday.

I think you'll enjoy the Sage 5, I sure love mine. It's a great little knife with wonderful ergonomics and it's proven incredibly useful over the two years that I've had it.

Back then I also decided between a PM2/3 and a Sage 5, but after getting a PM2 and trying it out for a while, I decided that the straight spine wasn't really suited for what I was going to use my knife for, so then I got a Sage and was blown away by it.

It's really easy to get out, deploy the blade, do the cutting and put it back, thanks to the compression lock and it's superb design.
