Just picked up these beauties this week, the Sage 2 earlier in the week and the Sage 1 just arrived in the mail. These are among the nicest and SHARPEST knives I've yet owned and the Sage 2 has become my favorite EDC.

Here's pics of both:

Never mind they're made in Taiwan, the quality is first class throughout...Thanks Sal for these great Sage models!

Were the Sage 3 something other than black G10 I'd want one as well :) Too many great knives coming out this year, luckily a lot of them have smething or other I don't like.

Joe,

You have a nice pair of spydies there.

Oh no!!! The benchmade man Joe has came over to Spyderco. I knew you'd see the light. :D

I'm just fooling around with you. :)

I love that duo as well. I was also amazed with the sharpness from the box. Nice catch!

same here...both my sages are just ridiculously sharp...sharper than any knife I've purchased yet, even my WH.

Hi Jkarp,

thanx much.

WongKI,

The Sage3 will be blue G10 made to look like FRN. Blackie Collins was the first to use FRN in a knife and most of his production knives using the Bolt Action lock were made from FRN. We couldn't use FRN because of the cost of a mold.

Sal,
Sounds very interesting. Looking forward to that. Blue and Grey are my favorite colors, those are always welcome additions. Can't wait!

Wow, that's interesting! I was already looking forward to this one. This adds a bit of salsa. ;)

Curious, why do you prefer to daily carry the 2 over the 1? I can see the frame lock being preferred, but the looks and texture of the handles are a plus on the 1.

That's what one would think but I prefer the Sage 2 over the 1 by a pretty good margin myself. Mostly just for the "feel" I get from it considering the dimensions are the same. I carry the Sage 2 often and the Sage 1 is in the closet.

I just prefer the Sage 2 although the Sage 1 is a beauty in it's own right. Ti scales have always been my favorites and the '2' is one of the better examples.
