Sometimes I wish I didn't have the "Horse-trading" gene. I have traded knives away more than once only to regret it. The latest was trading my sweet Sage 1 for a Para 2. This was when the Para 2 was almost impossible to get so I did it. I soon figured there would be a plethora of them around though and decided to sell it a week later while they wetre still in short supply to purchase an original Digicam Para since they indeed will be drying up. I realize I like both the original and the Sage 1 better than the Para 2. Nothing wrong with the Para 2 at all but it doesn't float my boat like the original. Now the Sage 1 in all its carbon fiber glory is flat out a keeper so I won't be making that mistake again!

...on the other hand if I ever see a Coyote brown Para 2......

I'm sorry about that bro. I'm loving the sage that I got though. I agree with you on that trade infection...i feel like i need to be trading. I have definitely slowed down recently since I actually want to use a bunch of my knives and not just pretend that i have a reason for owning so many.

Since you like the sage with its CF, have you looked at the Gayle bradley? its probably more on the size of the para 2, but you might want to look into it?

Yes I have looked at the Gayle Bradley and it is a great knife, but I need suspenders to hold my pants up!

Coyote Brown Para 2 would be awesome!

Sage series remains my favorite Spyderco design for edc to date.
Everything about the knife's design, materials, and appropriate history is just intriguing!

I just got my Sage 1 today, and i just ordered a para 2. Which would be better choice for edc? Once i decided on which, i'll get a 2nd one of the same knife =)

I have a Para 2 on back order but I'm thinking of switching to the Sage 2. I hear good things about the Taiwainese knives.....

Yeah weight can be an issue. Ive always seen that with the ZT series. all of the folders are basicallly like 8+ oz. Its like carrying a buck 110 in your pocket. You don't realize how heavy it is until you take it out and find that you float a couple inches off the ground.....they are anchors to be sure. I also don't like funky recurves, which is why I traded my benchmade 710

My sage 1 is in perfect condition. Much better than my superleaf and endura and warrior. But the pivot is alittle rough, maybe it's quite old.

My vote is keep one of each as they are both great knives. One thing about many of Spyderco's G10 knives is eventually you are going to tear the pockets up! I have many of the Foliage green models and grippy they are. Doesn't really bother me, but it's a fact. The CF Sage is a lot more gentle in that aspect. I find the blade shape on both quite unique but equally usable. If I had to deploy with one it would be the Para. If I had to choose one to carry in all situations it might be the Sage.

Thanks! I have many 'deploy' knives such as Emerson's and ZT's. Ok, i'll be getting a 2nd sage 1! Yay!
