Sage coating thickness?

This has probably been covered before but the search function isnt working. :grumpy:
Does anyone know what the thickness of the coating on a sage and green linen GW is? Im thinking about stripping the coating off my GW anyways and Im hoping without the coating it will measure out to 0.170" rather than the 0.195 it is now. I see Tom Krein has some GW sheaths for the 0.170" thick wardens. After buying one of his meaner sheaths ( which I would recommend to anyone) I think I need to get one from my GW.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure if you strip it you will only loose .010" or so.

Just my guess though.

I gave a kydex GW sheath from Okuden for one of the .220" wardens... I was able to put one of the fat .220" GWs in it. it was tight, but not that bad. What you can't do is go down in size... one of my .170" GWs will fall right out of it.

The black coated sus scrofa was listed as 0.19 at the BCS, and the satin was listed as 0.17. Assumptions being what they are, your GW MAY be 0.17 stripped.

Funny, I'm working on a kydex sheath for my Lep Warden right now. Mine mics out at .190 with the coating. I don't think mine will fit in one of Tom's sheaths. I tried it in a BB sheath made for another warden I have, and it was a super tight fit. You almost couldn't get it out of the sheath if you did manage to get it in there.

Thanks for the help.
I just put the pain stripper on so i will soon see what it measures out too.
