Witch one is your favorite? I really want to get one but I don't know if I should get the Ti or the bolt lock. I have Ti framelocks (I LOVE them) but I want to try out the bolt lock.. what do yall think? And is the bolt lock much different than a axis lock or ball bearing lock?

I love my Sage 2 I just got it a couple weeks ago. I'm pretty sure the bolt action lock is very similar to Spyderco's ball bearing lock. I'd say get the sage 3 if your looking for something different. Although the sage 2 is a great all around knife it's very boring.

I know you didn't mention the sage 1 but I just received mine in the mail yesterday and so far am extremely impressed.

I think as an EDC the Sage 1 is the best choice. The carbon fiber overlay is extremely durable, the liner lock is one of the best executed liner locks I have ever used, and you get the exact same blade as the other 3 Sage knives. And, it's the lightest version. The bolt action is cool, but it's more difficult to use than the liner lock, and the Ti looks great but will show wear. Also, the Sage 1 has a black clip, which I prefer.

Thanks guys. I am looking for something different though (plenty of linerlocks and framelocks) so I am leaning towards the 3

Enjoy using the Sage series knives. My favorite is the Sage 1, but the Sage 3
is growing on me. The bolt lock intrigued me and the color reeled me in, going
through a blue kick. I'm beginning to find the sweet spot to disengage the
bolt lock with just my thumb. It's still quite harder on the thumb than the axis
or ball bearing locks. However, once the lock is disengaged, it's very smooth to
close.

Had a Sage 2 a while back and will most likely pick one up, again. Just had an
overdose of the Ti frame-locks. It was a great knife and the klank when it opened
was sweet music to the ears.

The Sage 1 for me. I just put a nice 15° (30° incl.) bevel on mine with my Wicked Edge and it is a slicing machine. Very well-made knife. I should get another one.

What is perceived as boring to one, might be beauty in simplicity to another. I gotcha though man :D
Can't go wrong with any of the Sage line!

I only have the Sage 1 and 2 from the Sage series but I like both of them equally. Top notch quality and a bargain of a deal.

I love and carry them all except for the 4 (too heavy). The Titanium one is probably my most carried - but the Smurf 3 feels really nice and solid in hand. And the CF is probably the classiest (and lightest!) of the bunch.

Only have the 2, but I love it. Three slabs of beautiful metal, some great fit and finish fasteners and the clip make one wonderful knife. My other Spyderco and Benchmade knives have not seen much use for 6 months. The 1 is my second favorite. The blue is too much for me and the weight of the 4 is a no go.

The Sage 4 is the most striking and the one I like the most, but the posters above are right about the weight. I carry the #2 more than the others, but it's almost a tie with #1. Could never warm up to #3 and didn't get one (closed construction and too blue for me). But, if you are looking for something different, the Sage 3 will fit the bill nicely.

I own the Sage 1 and consider it a perfect knife. At one point, I had planned on buying all of them and after consideration I don't believe that the other three offer any thing more than the first Sage did.

With that said, they are all well made excellent knives and they all have the same blade and steel.

The Sage models have been debated on a few forums I've been involved with and it seems the Sage 1 is the more popular choice. The popularity issue isn't really what made me order one but it's on the way.

I love all my sages, but I find the bolt lock on the Sage 3 to be really stiff compared to say a Manix 2. And the Sage 4 is so much heavier with the SS bolsters. If I had to rte them from favorite to less favorite I'd have to go with 2, 1, 4, 3.
