SAK 2008 Alox Soldier - Do I need a user and a couple safe queens?

Good morning BF,

Picked these two up yesterday.

My real question is about the SAK. It's an Alox Soldier and the blade is stamped 08. I know they were the issue knife and in 2008 they switched over to the new issue blade.
I've read a bit about thsi but defer to the experts here for more info.
I love this knife and want to keep it around the shop for general cutting tasks and use the opener for the occasional cold brew on the weekend.

Is this 08 model getting scarce and should I get a few more as safe queens from the collectible standpoint. I have a chance to get a few more.
If it's the right call, I'd like to know if I should pick up a couple more for collector value before they're all snatched up?

The Case is a 1971 Pen model. Beautiful representation and after cleaning it up and oiling it, it will go into my edc rotation.
Picked it up for $15. WOW!
I think that was a great find at that price, but I'm no expert, just a Knife Knut. Hopefully some traditional guys will chime in and comment on this little knife.

I would get a few more to put up just because it's a great knife. You'll really enjoy it by using it. Not sure how VALUABLE they will ever be as collectibles due to the popularity and availability of the Alox models. Good luck!!!

Thanks Wicked Sharp. I wasn't too concerned with the value per se. I bought it for the reasons you stated. I was just wondering if I should get a few more since it's no longer made. I may or may not sell/trade a few off but like most knife knuts, my fear is using it and loving it and then I don't have a 'back up' (or two or three).

As far as collectibility, I always think more along the lines of my grandkids having it 50 years from now. A couple used ones from paw paw will be nice but a couple new in the box would have a greater value if they need/want to trade or sell and get into collecting.

I'm frankly ashamed of you guys. I bought the 2008 Soldier and realized I may want to hang onto it. I'm not quite sure yet.
What I do know for sure is that got me reading the forum and the next thing you know I'm looking for a Farmer since I like that saw blade and spend alot of time outdoors.

Guess what happened next? I bought this one. SAK Farmer Orange Alox. New in Box.

Dammit BF!!! I'm telling that young hot wife of mine that it's all your fault.
