I guess I've got the SAK bug! Time to get another one.

I like the idea of having a magnifying glass on a SAK; but the scientist and yeoman are not available anymore.

Are there any other SAK's that have them...without being too large. I like 2 or 3 layered SAK's.

If not possible, whats the best SAK solution if I like a blade, a combo tool, scissors, a corkscrew, and maybe a phillips driver?

Thanks for your help

I have an Explorer that has the magnifying glass, it's either 3 or 4 layer - not in front of me to check.

Sounds like the scientist and the yoeman are what you're looking for. If you look around, you can still find them on ebay. (I bought 2 of each from there in the past 6 months) Other than that, you have the explorer, but that's 4 layers. Other options that meet your last requirements, (except for the phillips) are the compact and golfer model w/ scissors. If you are willing to use WENGER, they have a traveler model that is 3 layers with scissors and a phillips.(there are 2 versions, one w/ corkscrew and one with phillips)
You can also carry a leatherman micra or S4 Squirt with you and add any SAK w/ phillips to meet your needs.

Sounds like you want the explorer:
large blade
small blade
scissors
magnifying glass
phillips s-driver
flat head s-driver
can opener
wire stripper
bottle opener
awl/reamer
tweezers
toothpick
corkscrew

Currently available -

explorer (US model #53791)
size:91 mm | 3 1/2 inch
Large blade
Small blade
Can opener with small screwdriver
Bottle opener with large screwdriver & wire stripper
Scissors
Magnifying glass
Reamer with sewing eye
Phillips screwdriver
Corkscrew
Hook
Toothpick
Tweezers
Key ring

BUT it is 4 layers/backsprings thick -
just a bit too thick for my tastes.

Ideally (discontinued - but can be found on eBay etc) -
Victorinox Yeoman

3 layers/backsprings thick with almost all the functionalites of the Explorer.

Note: as far as I know the magnifying glass is always coupled with the Phillips screwdriver in the handle on opposite sides of the same backspring/layer.

Caution - there were some places that were listing the Yeoman - especially the Boy Scouts of America Yeoman - and it appears that the Explorer was supplied in the box.

I'm holding my explorer right now, it's 4 layers.
I've keep it in my office desk for the past 10 or
12 yrs. Use it quite often. Best tool design is the
phillips located at the end,,,,a must! Unfortunatly
SAK only offers this design on a few models.
