Got this one from my neighbor. It is a Victorinox with an interesting sheald shape and ribbed(? linier) alox scales. It looks like a Cadet but with a small blade insead of a nail file. Does anyone know which model this is and if it is in current production?

Thanks,
Scott

That has the tools configuration of the current (new) Cadet II.

It may have actually been called the "Cadet" before the model with the nailfile superceded it -

You'll see the name remained the same, but the Swiss/international model numbers changed slightly - for the small clip point knife blade version was 0.25 01.26, and the nailfile version was 0.26 01.26

If yours does not have the keyring then the model number is likely to have been 0.25 00.26

I have one of these, the 0.25 01.26 version with two knife blades instead of the file. My favorite knife, it goes with me everywhere. The metal edges make it slim, fits so well in my pocket. Bought it in Switzerland in the 1980s, would like to have another but so far have struck out. Any suggestions?

Ten years or ten centuries old, it's still the only mention of this specific SAK on the Internet. And I want another 0.25 01.26.

Resurrected old post perhaps but I have been fond of SAKs for 50 years and did very much take notice when Victorinox significantly changed the shape of the small blade about 30-35 years ago. Just so happens I kinda liked the old style because it was slightly more useful! The illustration of the model 0.25 01.26 in post #2 shows the old style small blade and the photo of 0.25 01.26 in post #5 shows the current version.

I too like the older styles better but I'm guessing that you've noticed as well as I that there are many collectors nowadays and the older model alox knives tend to get snapped up pretty quickly, often for high dollars.

So I'd imagine if you do run across one in good shape, even if it seems a bit pricey, probably better snag it while it's available. Sometimes a deal can be found. Usually not by me though. Lol.

Or, if you can find the donors, have a modder make up the combo you'd like. Sometimes cheaper to go that route than get a factory made model in decent shape.
