I have to admit that while growing up I always asumed that the SAK'S were just more of a novelty knife.. How could they possibly put all those tools in one knife, provide excellent quality and sell at a reasonable price.. Never actually trying to learn more about them or the company that makes them..

Until I joined this forum and started reading all the excellent reviews and feedback... Got me to thinking, I have a few that have always been in the gunsafe. Time to take them out and actually look them over.
Nothing new to report that hasn't already been said by others. Very nice workmanship. Clean machining, nice fit, smooth operation etc...
I really like the saw blade design. This thing actually looks like it would cut very well. Gotta go out tommorow and try it out on some small branches.

In all honesty I had thought about putting them up for trade for more slippies, now I'm not so sure.. My favorite is probably the one with the car on it, the Grand Prix.. Nothing real special but heres a pic of them.

I EDC a Soldier with the aluminum scales, nice looking knife, holds an edge well and has stood up to a lot of abuse in my hands. The only thing I dislike is that you can't open it with one hand, and I like to be able to do that, so I may get a single blade folder to replace it sometime soon.

I've seen some models of Wenger's that have a hole in the blade for one hand opening.. Can't remember what they are called though.

I'm living out of a hotel in Dubai and have the Camper as my pocket knife. I must use it 25 times a day. Great little knife, excellent set of tools and very people friendly.

Victorinox makes one hand opening knifes too, here i germany you can buy 'em for about 25€

Sak's are great pocket knives. A hundred uses, good quality, and can go anywhere due to international recognition and low profile. I've kept a sak around and carried one even when I had a traditional slippy with me. The tinker model is light weight, compact, and a pleasure to carry. The little classic SD in your picture is way more handy than you would believe. Put it on your keyring with a quick detach clasp, and I'll bet by the end of a month you'll never want to be without it.

Sak's did not get the popularity and reputation they have for little reason.

Acutally, if you can't open the solider with one hand. then you are doing something wrong. I open it again my jeans all the time. Hint: Use your thumb nails and your jeans.
