Here is a shot of my Pioneer, Cadet and Executive main blades;

Untitled by GaryWGraley, on Flickr

While the Cadet is smaller than the Pioneer, I feel I can use it with about the same cutting force if needed, such as whittling onto hard wood, but the Executive feels better suited to, well a suit type task ;) but, she is sharp!!!

Good comparison shot Gary.
I could have used that pic a few weeks ago, when I was deciding between pioneer & cadet for my first alox. I wasn't sure but happy I went with cadet.
Cheers

That's one thing I don't like about 74mm SAKs vs peanuts. I feel the frame can handle a wider pivot and thicker, more capable blade. Instead it's more like a stretcher out Classic blade, with the disadvantage of more leverage on the pivot.

View attachment 1149506 I carry all 3 of these. The 91mm Waiter has a 1/8” diameter internally threaded tube going through the pivots of all 4 blades (spear, can opener, saw, and corkscrew). The 74mm Money Clip uses the same blade as the Executive. I am not sure what the innards look like on the custom 58mm Mini Champ. I haven’t knocked that one apart. Somebody said that they were tough to reassemble. I do carry larger blades for heavier work, so the size of the SAK blades isn’t overly concerning.

Mind if I ask about that mini champ? The clip, and custom scales look really cool. Is that a homemade deal or is there someone I can pay to make these custom SAKs at a reasonable price?

Both of the Ti SAK’s are custom made using Victorinox innards and CNC’d handles.

I personally find that the blade of the Cadet, like other 84mm SAKs, is perfectly adequate. And, yet, even though looking at the phone the blade of the Executive is only maybe 1/4in shorter, I always find it lacking. In a pinch, it does do the trick, but it always seems to get the handle/hinge in the mess of things, which makes for an even bigger mess in the hands.
