My sister-in-law's phone froze. She asked me to fix it. I didn't know what else to do so I took it apart using the file tip on the Classic. Worked like a charm! I wonder what the next adventure will be? I love traditional knives and their functionality!

The paper towel dispenser in the break room at work fails on a regular basis because the roll of towels tears in the wrong spot. I use the screwdriver blade on my Vic Classic to open the dispenser so I can re-feed the roll.

Great.
Even though the classic is a true classic, I now suggest you upgrade

Just because :D

This little fellow has been on my key chain a long time and has been used for just about everything.

Ken (Itsasportsbar) passed along to me my very first alox SAK, the venerable Classic, along with the Case pictured next to it. Never seen a knife actually leap onto my keyring before.

Ah, the 58mm SAK's, how do I love thee!!

I think of the little classic as the little pocket knife that can. I can't count the number of things I've actually fixed with it, as sometimes it was the only thing on me, other times I'd look over a job to see what tool to get from my toolbox, and just see I'd need a small Philips driver.

I fixed the broken latch in the Sear's Kenmore clothes drier at the old house in Maryland with it. I saw that the drier door was a sheet metal clamshell with two phillips screws on each side. Unscrewing them with the SD tip, I was able to pry the halts apart. Then the nail file blade was used to lightly pry out the broken spring latch, pop the new one in, and screw the door back together.

I've taken the battery out of a Vespa GT200 so to charge up the battery. The SD tip also felt with the screws on the battery terminals holding the battery cables.

Visiting an aged aunt in Clearwater Florida many years ago, I replaced a defective door knob, and fixed another one with just the little classic that made the trip in checked luggage.

The tweezers helped me get a deep thorn out from down between our welsh corgi's paw pads on a woods outing. The little tweezers could reach down in between to get to the sticker between the pads. Pearl The Wonder Corgi was grateful.

Now wait a minute, we went from discussing a small key chain size knife to one that requires a sheath to carry. I have several larger Victorinox knives but I have two sets of keys I carry and a Classic on each set.

Perhaps it would have made more sense if I noted that I carry that knife on my belt almost every single day. :D

I used to pocket carry that big beast long ago but the material in the RFP never seemed to last long! :p

ah the classic SAK, had one in black since freshman year in college, a most trustable and reliable friend. next to my aluminum claw opener. ive swapped out the claw opener due to sentimental reasons but the SAK stays

I have and love the model on the right in Jake's pic, the one with the tiny phillips/ caplifter, The Rambler. But that alox Minichamp - oohwee! - I've got to look into one of those bad boys.

Edit: Just checked out the minichamp - not enough extra functionality for me to justify the expense. I do dig that it has a pen, though!
