I was wondering if they ever came out with a TSA friendly Classic. To me the classic is the best grooming tool you can fit in your pocket and I would give up the blade to have the ability to carry it everywhere.

Even without a blade, do you think the Thorough Sexual Assault (TSA) agents would let you pass with the scissors and file?

You could always take a classic and cut the blade off and keep it just for air travel. At 9 dollars and change, it's not like it's an expensive knife to de-fang.

Airport security at Quebec City Airport took away my "Rambler Minus" (Phillips/Bottle opener on one side, scissors on the other) claiming that scissors had sharp point. I was in a hurry, so I did not raise hell. YMMV

Don't pay $9. You can find them on ebay all day long for $5 and guess what. They're TSA confiscated ones. I wonder who's pulling them from the confiscated bins and reselling them all.
What a crock!
If you ever get a knife confiscated, check ebay and you might be able to buy it back.

My state has regular auctions where these knives are offered in lots. Here is an excerpt from a closed auction

I went to Europe with a SwissCard in my carry on, three airport screen checks, and didn't know it was there. On the was back it was confiscated...

Unfortunetly, they never made one w/o a knife.
Try snapping it off.

Why not just put it in you're check in luggage. When it comes to flying the one rule is there is no rules. If the TSA person you get wants to take,it's gone unless you want to miss you're flight.

I have flown several times with the Wenger Swiss Clipper AT and I have never had any troubles in regards to security.
