For EDC, to cover as many emergency options as possible.

Option 1 SAK compact + Leatherman rebar

Option 2 SAK compact + Leatherman wingman

or.....???

going crazy trying to decide.

Depends what emergencies you anticipate. I for example, pack a trauma kit and a full tang blade whenever I commute/travel.

But I only commute once a week if that. In reality this is the most I carry (my current EDC config):

My tools: Fisher Space Pen, Knipex XS, Cadet, SNK809, Ti Pry Tool, Sofirn SC01, SwissCard Lite, leather pocket organizer.
Not shown: handkerchief, leather card sleeve for cash and cards.
There are at least six redundancies in this picture.

Nice.

The only advice I can give is if you’re truly carrying tools anticipating emergencies, go with stout gear that you can comfortably carry…a big Vic and a ST300.

If it’s more of a “what if?” thing, don’t overdo it…a compact in your pocket and maybe the Leatherman Bond on your belt. Also, I’d try to carry a Vic and a Leatherman that aren’t equipped with the same tools. How many scissors and files does a fella really need on them at all times?

And I’ll 2nd Rupestris Rupestris , a mini champ on the keychain comes in awfully handy.

The Minichamp is far and away the most used knife I own. The scissors, nail file, and wharncliffe knife being the most used tools. It's an older one so it's only four tools on one side and three on the other. No bottle opener and slightly slimmer than the current model.

The wharncliffe blade gets used more because of the end it opens out of. the standard blade opens to the keyring side and it's a bit more cumbersome than having the keys behind the knife.

I used the Recruit for traveling as it doesn't cost much to replace if the TSA or airline baggage manglers decide that they need it more than I do. I actually prefer the Alox Cadet.

I put it in the elastic on the Leatherman sheath and found that it worked so it stays thee just so I know where it is. It's a lot of redundancy but it isn't like they're my only knives/multitools 😁.

I have a Leatherman Wingman with a Buck Bantam 285 and a pair of trauma shears in my car kit, which I'm rarely more than five minutes away from.

There's a Vic Alox Farmer in my tool box for garage use and a Wenger Standard Issue and a SwissTech keychain tool in my home office desk.

A Gerber multitool in my tackle box for it's one-hand operation.

A Vic Classic on the keys to my wife's car.

Another Vic Classic in my travel "bathroom bag" (toiletries).

I should probably seek help. 😜

Nonsense, you’re just prepared 👍

The Compact and Rebar probably covers all your bases. The only thing is you don't have a OHO knife for emergencies so the Wave might be better then the Rebar only for that reason but you would lose the awl and 3D phillips. Personally I would go Wave\SAK Climber; even though there is tool overlap I think it is a better combo for emergencies then the Rebar\SAK Compact.

Valid point about one hand opening, the charge ALX with the guthook serrated blade would be my pick for emergency carry.
