Hey All. I'm a big fan of taking stock products and customizing and improving them and I'm also a big fan of SAKs. Right now I'm thinking about the Vic. Fireman, but before I made the purchase I'm interested in seeing what kind of improvements and modifications people have made to their SAKs (improved scales, filing down this or that, thumbstuds etc.). Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know if the Fireman was designed as a commemorative piece? Does it contain any firefighter logos or emblems? I really like what this particular knife has to offer, but Im not a firefighter myself and Im not sure how I would feel carrying something that was designed to honor their bravery and sacrafice.

I make wood scales from oak, black walnut, maple, etc for my SAK's. I really like SAK's and there's nothing like having wood handles on one. I've not tried to mod the knife itself like swap tools and liners and stuff yet. I will soon though. :D

I also recommend www.sosakonline.com .
