Is it possible to change what items are in a sak? For example, take a blade from one sak and swap it out for a different blade from a different sak?

Is this something that's very difficult to do? Does it require special tools?

I'm asking because I want to someday start making knives. I think it would be fun to make custom blades people could put in saks. This way they (or I) could carry around several of my blades all at once. I could also take more time learning how to make good handles.

I've also never seen a sak by Vic. or Wenger that had everything I wanted in a sak without also having a truckload of stuff I would never use.

I imagine it wouldn't be terribly hard to get into if you had the proper tools for drilling out and pressing in the rivets and pins. Of course, I've never tried it . . .

It is not hard to do, I've done a few small mods, but nothing truely special or classy (yet). Go to knifeforums, ask to join SOSAK (Secret Order of the SAK) and do a search on the mod s that people have done (Scibeer, SPork, and someone else).

Swissbianco is the third person. I'm not sure if he does individual customs, but I know he has done some great stuff recently (red alox, PE OHT)

No it was someone else, you are right though, Swissbianco does do small runs of custom SAKs, it just isn't who I was thinking of. Rotokid, thats who it was, but now that I'm thinking about it there is another one too knifecoop. Actually looking at the Mod Index post there are a whole bunch of them that do it, a few that haven't posted lately though, I should get some photos taken and get my name up on that list too.
