Am I missing something or does the SAK Alox Electrician not have a key ring? I thought it did but can't seem to find it. Does it fold away somewhere?

I can't remember one ever having a split ring. Only the Pioneer, farmer and cadet in the Alox range IIRC.

Love my electrician. Particularly with a beer and pocket clip. I do agree that a ring would've saved me the trouble of adding the clip though.

The all black electrician from Swiss Bianco comes with the keyring. I ground it off as I find it just makes a hot spot during use, but to each his own. Some of his other color ones may have the keyring too but can't recall off hand.

Or a modder could create about any color electrician you'd like based on the pioneers by finding a donor eblade to swap into it.

Yes! Totally forgot about the Swiss Bianco route! A bit more expensive, but worth it.

Ive never heard of Swiss Bianco but just looked them up. Besides the keyrings whats with the price hike? $80 for an electrician seems a bit steep.

The knives he releases are only from him at what I'm guessing are a much lower total pieces made as compared to the general public releases. His are pretty much exclusives. He's worked pretty close with Victorinox to establish his relationship with them to become kind of like an "authorized" modder. Meaning his are factory made. He's turned out many different exclusive alox runs over the years that do command a premium to get.

For instance, the factory made all black electrician is only available thru his outlet. There is sometimes a price difference too between his US & Canadian stores, so be sure to check both. I think the Canada store pieces are what's on the large auction site. There's been some back and forth about his releases that I'm not going to get into but search through older threads to see what's been previously discussed.

There are other modders as well who make different colored alox however and a search should pop them up. But by the time you pay for the coating and tool swapping if needed, you may be close to that pricing anyway. Victorinox has been releasing a lot of new colors, and re-releases, but the electrician always seems to be left out. It's always Pioneers and Rancher type models. Wish they'd show a little more love to the electrician in those runs. They usually have a premium price though since it's a limited run too.

No way to win in the wallet...lol. :) Alox addiction gets expensive.

Diesel costs for shipping have driven the prices up on anything we don't make here. We really need to start making more stuff here. Container ships cost big bucks to operate and license and insure.
